Oakland News Alert: Mayor Dellums and others Organize Concert for Haiti Relief Efforts
Mayor of Oakland posted this important event and news alert on Haiti
OAKLAND - Mayor Ron Dellums, Congresswoman Barbara Lee (CA-09), D’Wayne Wiggins of the R&B music group Tony Toni Tone and other community organizations, elected officials and musicians will help organize a concert and series of fundraising events to raise $100K in one week towards Haiti’s earthquake relief efforts.
“When the human family witnesses a loss of life on such a large scale, the responsibility to support recovery efforts is vitally important. This concert is one way Bay Area residents can help provide critical supplies and resources to the people of Haiti,” said Mayor Dellums.
“Both here in the Bay Area and across the nation, citizens are galvanizing support in response to this disaster,” said Congresswoman Lee. “I am moved and proud to see that Oakland is joining in this massive intemational effort to provide relief and support for the people of Haiti.”
